About Children’s Book Trust
Founded by Shankar in 1957, the Children’s Book Trust (CBT) is a pioneer in children’s publishing in India. The Trust is housed in Nehru House, inaugurated by President Dr. S. Radhakrishnan on November 30, 1965. CBT is dedicated to producing well-written, well-illustrated, and well-designed books for children. The Trust aims to enhance children’s appreciation of India’s cultural heritage through its publications.
CBT has completed 60 years of promoting creative ideas and factual accounts. Over the years, the Trust has published a variety of content, including playful animal fantasies like Panchatantra tales and retold folktales.
CBT also addresses contemporary issues such as teenage problems, scientific advancements, school and sports dilemmas, and contributions of notable Indians. Additionally, CBT publishes “Children’s World,” a monthly magazine for children that has been in circulation for 57 years.
Competition Details
“Children’s World” invites ORIGINAL stories, poems, features (in English), and paintings (in any medium) for the 35th Your Pages Special November issue.
Rules
- The competition is open to all school children.
- Each participant can submit ONE written entry and/or ONE painting.
- Schools can submit up to TEN written entries and TEN paintings.
- Written entries must be typed; handwritten entries will not be accepted.
- Prose entries should not exceed 750 words; poems should not exceed 25 lines.
- Each entry must indicate the word count for prose or the line count for poems.
- Entries exceeding the given length will be disqualified.
- Submit written entries as MS Word documents and paintings as scanned JPEGs (no PDF files).
- Each entry must include a passport-size photo of the participant and a filled Declaration form.
- Email all attachments in a single email to [email protected] ONLY.
